Samsung has finally launched its highly anticipated phone Galaxy SIII, and it will be released in India in June. It sports 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display offering 16:9 wider viewing angles and weighs 133gms and is 8.6 mm thick. According to the release the phone powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, packs in some really interesting features under the hood, which might make Apple iPhone users a bit green with envy. With an 8 MP camera (featuring zero lag shutter speed) and 1.9 MP front camera, it provides “a variety of intelligent camera features and face recognition related options that ensure all moments are captured easily and instantly,” a press release said.
As always with Samsung, Galaxy SIII is inspired (read copied) by Apple and it will feature its very own Siri like interface called S-Voice, which would listen and respond to user’s command. In addition to information search you can also command your device to play your favourite song, organize your daily routine, send emails and text messages and launch the camera and capture a photo.
This advanced interface will not only recognize the user’s voice but will also respond to movements, so if you are typing a message and you want to make a call just lift your phone to your ears and it will automatically dial the number. With its “Smart Alert” technology if the phone is lying idle and you pick it up, it will notify you of the messages and misscalls received.
With the new “S Beam” the phone can transmit 1GB movie file within 3 mins and 10MB song within 2 secs, if touched to another GALAXY SIII without wifi or network signal.
